Banana Bread with...

In class we have made our own Banana Bread. It was delicious. We have tweeked the recipe and added some of our own ingredients to give it a bit of a twist. Why not have a go yourself?

Banana Bread with Chocolate Spread

Equipment

  • 2 large bowls

  • Electric whisk

  • Wooden spoon

  • Metal spoon

  • Weighing scale

  • Loaf tin

Ingredients

  • 225g caster sugar

  • 285g plain flour

  • 1tsp bicarbonate soda

  • 110g butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 85ml of milk

  • 1tsp of lemon juice

  • Chocolate spread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180⁰C.

  2. Grease the loaf tin.

  3. Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda into the large bowl.

  4. In a different cream the butter and sugar.

  5. Mash the bananas with a fork.

  6. Add the 2 eggs, mashed bananas, milk and sugar.

  7. Fold the flour into the other bowl.

  8. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin.

  9. Put the loaf tin into the oven to cook.

  10. When finished in the oven get a knife and spread the chocolate spread on the bread.

Banana Bread with Nutella and Banana

Ingredients

  • ripe bananas (3)

  • plain flour (285g)

  • bicarbonate soda (1 tsp)

  • butter (110g)

  • eggs (2)

  • milk (85ml)

  • lemon juice (½ tsp)

  • caster sugar (225g)

  • nutella and bananas to finish

  • large bowl (2)

  • electric whisk

  • sieve

  • wooden spoon

  • weighing scale

  • loaf tin

  • measuring jug

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C

  2. Grease the loaf tin.

  3. Sieve the flour and bicarbonate soda into a bowl.

  4. In a different bowl cream together the butter and sugar.

  5. Mash the bananas.

  6. Add your (2) eggs, milk, mashed bananas and lemon juice then mix.

  7. Fold in the flour.

  8. Bake for about an hour.

  9. Decorate with nutella and chopped bananas.

  10. Eat with butter cream then you’re done.

Chocolate Banana Bread

  • Mearsuring jug

Ingredients

  • plain flour 285g

  • 1tsp bicarbonate of soda

  • 110g of butter and a little bit for the

  • loaf tin

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 1tsp lemon juice

  • 225 of caster sugar

  • 100g melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Grease the loaf tin with butter.

  3. Sift the flour with the bicarbonate soda.

  4. Cream the butter and the sugar in a different bowl.

  5. Mash the bananas up.

  6. Add eggs bananas milk and lemon juice.

  7. Mix everything together.

  8. Fold the flour with the chocolate.

  9. Pour the mixer in the loaf tin.

  10. Bake the cake about an hour.
